DECEMBER 28, 2005

The end-of-year meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Trenton was held at the Trenton Municipal Center, Barneveld, NY.  Supervisor Mark Scheidelman called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.  Present:  Councilmen Shirley Poland, Betsy Mack, Bruce Kellogg, Joseph E. Smith; Attorney Tom Hughes.

05-154 FINANCE OFFICER’S REPORT:  Motion by Smith, second by Mack to approve the November Finance Officer’s report with an ending balance of $707,009.02.   Roll call:  Poland, abstain, Mack, aye; Kellogg, aye; Smith, aye; Scheidelman, abstain.  Motion carried.

Scheidelman reviewed ending balances and expenses not planned for.  Funds going into next year will be a little short, and with the increased fuel costs, it will be a tight budget next year.

05-155  BUDGET AMENDMENTS:  Motion by Kellogg, second by Mack to authorize the Supervisor to amend the budget to cover all expenses that may be over budget to be taken from excess revenues.  Roll call:  Poland, aye; Mack, aye; Kellogg, aye; Smith, aye; Scheidelman, aye.  Motion carried.

05-156 TRANSFERS:  Motion by Mack, second by Kellogg to move $95,000.00 from A9720.6 to H5 account to be taken from unexpended balances.  Roll call:  Poland, aye; Mack, aye; Kellogg, aye; Smith, aye; Scheidelman, aye.  Motion carried.

05-157  GENERAL ABSTRACT:  Motion by Mack, second by Smith to pay audited General Abstract 05-13 (#1031-1047) in the amount of $19,112.08.  Roll call:  Poland, aye; Mack, aye; Kellogg, aye; Smith, aye; Scheidelman, aye.  Motion carried.

Scheidelman explained that two payrolls (for a full year’s salary) were turned in at the end of the year too late to be added to this year’s expenses.  The board agreed that this problem may be avoided next year if payrolls are turned in quarterly instead of yearly.

05-158  HIGHWAY ABSTRACT:  Motion by Smith, second by Poland to pay audited Highway Abstract 05-13 (#331-336) in the amount of $675.02.  Roll call:  Poland, aye; Mack, aye; Kellogg, aye; Smith, aye; Scheidelman, aye.  Motion carried.

With this being the last meeting for the clerk, the board expressed their appreciation for all her work in the last ten years.  The clerk explained that the project of completing a Records Management Handbook was never completed due to lack of time.  With the board’s permission she would like to complete the project on her own time.

With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Anita Adam

Town Clerk
