Body:

The end-of-year meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Trenton was held at the Trenton Municipal Center, Barneveld, NY.  Supervisor Mark Scheidelman called the meeting to order at 7:11 p.m.  Present:  Councilmen Shirley Poland, Betsy Mack, Bruce Kellogg and Joseph E. Smith.

Scheidelman reviewed upcoming meetings scheduled for January.  On January 3, 2007 Planning Board Interviews will follow the Organizational meeting.  Scheidelman questioned whether the Town Board would like to re-interview Dave Constable.  Scheidelman would call Constable and give him the option of a second interview.

06-120  GENERAL ABSTRACT:  Motion by Mack, second by Kellogg to pay audited General Abstract 06-13 (#896-913) in the amount of $411,367.35.  Roll call:  Poland, aye; Mack, aye; Kellogg, aye; Smith, aye; Scheidelman, aye.  Motion carried.

FINANCE OFFICER’S REPORT:  Scheidelman presented the end of the Year Finance Report with an ending balance of $269,427.00.  Scheidelman informed the Town Board the server would need to be replaced.  He also suggested the Town Board consider putting aside money each year for a future revaluation.  Scheidelman will have all the numbers for the January 10th, 2007 meeting.

06-121 BUDGET AMENDMENTS:  Motion by Kellogg, second by Smith, to authorize the Supervisor through the bookkeeper to adjust balances in the budget using surplus funds.  Roll call:  Poland, aye; Smith, aye; Scheidelman, aye; Mack, aye; Kellogg, aye.  Motion carried.

06-112 FERGUSON LEASE:  Motion by Smith, second by Mack, to authorize the Supervisor to sign the final Lease Agreement between Patrick G. Ferguson and the Town of Trenton.  Roll call: Kellogg, aye; Mack, aye; Scheidelman, aye; Smith, aye; Poland, aye.  Motion carried.

PENCZEK PROPERTY:  Scheidelman reported the Penczek property has been cut in half according to the zoning map.  Part of the property is zoned commercial while the other half is not zoned for commercial use.  If the Town Board members have any input, now is the time to talk to Steve Hunter.  The Zoning Enforcement Officer needs to make a decision on zoning designation for the property.

GIS SOFTWARE:  Hunter approached Scheidelman about purchasing a copy of the GIS Software called “Manifold 7X”.  Hunter reported the county is currently using the software.  Both the Zoning Department and the Codes Department would benefit from the use of Manifold 7X.  The cost would be $245.00 per machine.

With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Katharine Squire

Town Clerk
