A Public Hearing for the purpose of obtaining funding through Community Development Block Grants for the Hinckley Sewer Project was held at the Trenton Municipal Center, Barneveld, NY. Supervisor Mark Scheidelman called the hearing to order at 7:30 pm. Present: Councilmen Shirley Poland, Bruce Kellogg, Joe Smith and Betsy Mack. Engineer Mickey Lehman from Bernier Carr Associates was here to answer any questions. PUBLIC HEARINGSeveral residents of the hamlet of Hinckley were present for the hearing. Mickey Lehman answered questions for the residents as well as for Town Board members. A hardship application has been submitted along with letters of support from the DEC. This years grant application looks stronger than last years. The estimated cost per resident in the sewer project area is expected to be $541.00 per year. The cost will include purchase or lease of land, construction, operation and maintenance expenses for thirty years. The individual homeowners will be responsible for removal of the old septic tanks. Poland left at 7:48 pm. 06-29 II. Resolution: Mack, seconded by Smith, made a motion to adopt the following resolution: RESOLVED: That Mark Scheidelman, Supervisor of the Town of Trenton, is hereby authorized and directed to submit a grant application for funds to the Governor’s Office of Small Cities; to act in connection with the submission and to provide all additional information as may be required, for funding of a sewer project in the hamlet of Hinckley. Roll call: Kellogg, aye; Mack, aye; Scheidelman, aye; Smith, aye. Motion carried.
George Roth of Hinckley addressed drainage concerns to the board. The culverts and storm drain are impacted with waste materials. The residents would like to see the drains and culverts flushed or cleaned out. The hearing was closed at 8:10 pm. A work session meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Trenton was held at the Trenton Municipal Center, Barneveld, NY. Deputy Supervisor Betsy Mack called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. Present: Councilmen Bruce Kellogg and Joseph E. Smith. Supervisor Scheidelman joined the meeting at 8:10 p.m. III. ARCHITECT INTERVIEWS: The board selected three consulting firms to give a presentation to the board regarding the proposed addition/building to the Municipal Center. The selected Architects were: March Associates, Nelson Associates and Mc Donald Monterose.
